Bought this off a friend who had it sat in his driveway for months, my intentions were to have it fixed and Mot’d to use as a cheap winter car. However, upon fitting a new battery and alternator belt (old belt had a tear in it) I started up the car and it has a “low oil pressure warning” on it.
Now the car starts and runs fine and oil levels were fine prior to start - so it could be, oil pump, oil pressure switch or even a blocked oil filter (from what I've read online) I immediately turned the car off upon reading the warning to not cause any further damage.
Again engine sounded totally fine and levels were fine so the engine should be ok once the issue has been diagnosed. I wasn't looking to spend much on this for repairs so deciding to sell as-is for someone with more time on their hands and more knowledge (i can do basic work brakes etc).
Gear linkage probably needs to be looked at too. The car can be viewed but I will strongly advise it not to be started again until further diagnostics has been carried out by yourself/mechanic.
